چکیده

The inflation of planar thin films represents a phenomenon widely employed by engineering and biological systems, with applications ranging from pressure sensors material characterization to growing skins in the human body. In this paper, bulging plane circular membranes composed isotropic elastoplastic materials is analytically, computationally experimentally studied. An analytical finite strain formulation developed implemented model deformation response inflated films. solution accurately predicts elastic plastic phases bilinear nonlinear materials, for both small large strains. It shows that sudden change full-field distribution during diaphragm associated localization first develops at membrane apex. results are compared element simulations wide range parameters, showing an excellent agreement. mathematical also validated bulge tests performed on ETFE membranes, representative response, aluminium foils show behaviour. comparison between theoretical predictions experimental measures proves validity proposed strains, which promises find modelling films, especially determination parameters through testing.

Simple Shear of a Strain-hardening Elastoplastic Hollow Circular Cylinder

Stress and deformation analysis of the simple shear at finite strain of a strainhardening elastoplastic hollow circular cylinder is given. Both isotropic and anisotropic hardening models are considered. In the case of isotropic hardening, there is a closed form analytical solution. No normal stresses exist in this case. Purely kinematic hardening with a Mises-type yield condition is utilized as...

Elastoplastic torsion of hollow FGM circular shaft

In many cases, a torsional shaft may be a thick-walled radially inhomogeneous cylindrical object. The hollow shafts made of functionally graded materials (FGMs) are such kind of compositions which were studied in this paper. Cylindrical FG shafts are composed of ceramic and metallic parts with power function distribution across the radial direction. The ceramic phase is isotropic elastic and th...

Elastoplastic Constitutive Analysis with the Yield Surface in Strain Space

A COMMON APPROACH used in formulating elastoplastic constitutive equations is to partition the total strain rate into its elastic and plastic parts, and then develop the constitutive expression for the plastic strain rate using the concept of the yield surFace in stress space. An alternative approach is to partition the stress rate into its elastic and plastic parts, and then develop the consti...

The Influence of Tensile Forces on the Deflection of Circular Diaphragms in Pressure Sensors

It 1s known that the deflection of a diaphragm 1s determmed by two mechamsms, bendmg moments or bendmg stress and tensile forces or membrane stress Usually the influence of tensile forces 1s not taken mto account when calculating the mechamcal properties of thm diaphragms Hence the mathematical descrlptlon thus obtamed will only be valid if the deflection of the diaphragm is small compared with...
